WELCOME TO THE SAFE MINISTRY JUNIOR LEADER’S COURSE.
The purpose of this course is to educate Junior Leaders with a basic understanding of what it means to lead and protect children and youth in a ministry setting.
A Junior Leader will:
- be any person under the age of 18;
- be a helper in the context of the ministry they are involved in;
- not be in a paid or supervisory ministry position;
- be supervised at all times by an experienced leader.
If you are a Junior Leader who is 16 or 17 years of age and/or have greater responsibilities than those listed above then, at the discretion of the senior minister, you are recommended to complete the Safe Ministry Essentials course to ensure you are fully trained for your ministry role.
Regardless of the training course completed, Junior Leaders, i.e., leaders under 18yrs, should not be counted as a leader for supervision purposes.
